Home My WebLink AboutR-00-0280J-00-287 3/23/00 , RESOLUTION NO. 0 ^�880 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION RELATED TO THE THIRD ANNUAL TASTE OF SOUL FEST, HOSTED BY THE CITY OF MIAMI MODEL CITY NEIGHBORHOOD ENHANCEMENT TEAM (NET) SERVICE CENTER, TO BE HELD ON MARCH 25 AND 26, 2000 AT HADLEY PARK, LOCATED AT NORTHWEST 12TH AVENUE AND 50TH STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA; AUTHORIZING THE WAIVER ALL FEES PERMISSIBLE BY THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE USE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION'S STAGE AND SOUND EQUIPMENT FOR SAID EVENT, WITH SAID AUTHORIZATIONS) CONDITIONED UPON THE ORGANIZERS: (1) PAYING FOR ALL OTHER NECESSARY COSTS OF CITY SERVICES AND APPLICABLE FEES ASSOCIATED WITH SAID EVENT; (2) OBTAINING INSURANCE TO PROTECT THE CITY IN THE AMOUNT AS PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE; AND (3) COMPLYING WITH ALL CONDITIONS AND LIMITATIONS AS MAY BE PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE. WHEREAS, the City of Miami Model City Neighborhood Enhancement Team (NET) Service Center will be hosting the Third Annual Taste of Soul Fest at Hadley Park, on March 25 and 26, 2000; and WHEREAS, the two-day festival invites the community to participate in a variety of activities and services some of which include arts and crafts, voter's registration, HIV/AIDS testing, cancer screening, dental cleaning, mammogram screening, blood pressure and vision testing; Chit COW SSION - MEETING OF REAR 2 3 2000 Resolution No. U NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The waiver(s) of all fees permissible by the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, including, but not limited to the, use of the Department of Parks and Recreation's stage and sound equipment, is hereby authorized for the Third Annual Taste Of Soul Fest, hosted by the City of Miami Model City Neighborhood Enhancement Team (NET) Service .Center, to be held at Hadley Park on March 25 and 26, 2000. Section 3. The herein authorization(s) is hereby conditioned upon the organizers (1) paying for all other necessary costs of City services and applicable fees associated with said event; (2) obtaining insurance to protect the City in the amount as prescribed by the City Manager or his designee; (3) conducting an audit at the conclusion of said event and reimbursing the City, in an amount not to exceed the amount of money waived herein, for any profit realized by said event; and (4) complying with all conditions and limitations as may be prescribed by the City Manager or his designee.
