MeCapturingthe Vision December 14, 1999 Commissioner Arthur Teele, Jr. District 5 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 Dear Commissioner Teele: Per our recent conversation, I would like to briefly share with you who we are. ReCapturing the Vision is a multifaceted teen empowerment program for at -risk middle and high school aged male and female students. What hakes this program unique is that we have a full service curriculum that has been implemented into the public school system here in the Miami -Dade County area for the last five yeses and within the curriculum is a strong abstinence only component that enables us to &end a strong message to young people about their worth to themselves and their %wrc p= =. I was honored to have the opportunity to share this vision with Mr. Franklin during his last tow date here in the Miami gree_ He was very excited about what RTV is doing and pledged to put forth every effort to support our endeavors. Out of his commitment to RTV, we have since entered into contract negotiations with his management team, The Wright Croup, to secure a date for a benefit concert here in the Miami area, Wwda cannot express the excitement that the Board of Directors and I feel at this time. Commissioner Teele, this venture will give us an opportunity to positively reach over 10, 000 youth with the message that we must `raise the standard". In a safe environment, youth from Dade and Broward Counties will be constantly bombarded with the positive, life -changing message that there is hope for theta, for their families, sod for their commtmities. The possibilities are endless and what better person to bring this nwssage to the forefront than gospel mega -star Kirk Franklin. As you could imagine, with all of the positive commitments that have been afforded to us, the budget for an event of this magnitude is great. However, Re Capturing the Vision is committed to exposing our youth to the best! At RTV, we believe that in order to reach them, we have to teach them. Commissioner Teele, if you remember, you were the plenary speaker several years ago at the RTV awards benefit held at Signature Gardens. Your esteemed presence and message of hope embellished our youth. It was an experience that the RTV staff and 1 will never forget.
