BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. City Clerk 26 CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM January 19, 2000 DATE: FILE SUBJECT: Coconut Grove Festival Committee REFERENCESFebruary 10, 2000 Agenda ENCLOSURES: List of Members, Resolution The Coconut Grove Festival Committee was created to make recommendations to the City Commission concerning the expenditure of the Coconut Grove Special Events District Fund. Please be aware that City Code Section 54-342(c) reads in part: "Each member of the committee shall reside, own real property or have its principal place of business in the Coconut Grove area. One City Commissioner may be an ex officio nonvoting member of the committee, and may be designated by the City Commission as the Committee's chairperson." (Emphasis added) Three appointments are needed at this time: • Commissioner Teele has one nomination for seat currently vacant because Dorothy Lee exceeded the number of absences allowed by the Code. • Commissioner Winton has one nomination for seat currently held by Sky Smith, who had been nominated by former Commissioner Plummer. • Commissioner Sanchez has one nomination for seat currently vacant because Ramiro Arango exceeded the number of absences allowed by the Code. For your information, attached please find a copy of the current membership of said committee. By copy of this memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to place this issue on the February 10, 2000 agenda.
