FOR PROVIDING HUMANITARIAN AND SOCIAL SERVICES FOR MORE THAN 40 YEARS IN THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AND SUPPORTING ITS FUNDING REQUEST TO THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN ITS EFFORTS FOR EXPANSION TO PROVIDE SERVICES TO MORE PEOPLE; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE OFFICIALS DESIGNATED HEREIN. WHEREAS, Camillus House, Inc. has provided humanitarian services for those in need for 40 years, offering food, clothing, housing, medical care, drug treatment, and social services to the indigent and homeless population of Miami -Dade County, Florida; and WHEREAS, Camillus House, Inc. has requested funding from the State of Florida,: Department of Children and Families, to improve programs and to provide assistance to more people in the community; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: CITY COMUSSION MEETING OF FEB 1 9 2000 01 Resolution Igo. 1-41 Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The Miami City Commission hereby recognizes the contributions of Camillus House, Inc. for providing humanitarian and social services for more than 40 years in the City of Miami, Florida and hereby supports its funding request to the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families, in its efforts for expansion to provide services to more people. Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the State of Florida, Office of the Governor and any other agency deemed appropriate to support Camillus House, Inc. in its funding request.
