A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
APPROVING THE PAINTING OF A MURAL ON THE JUAN
PABLO DUARTE PARK RECREATION BUILDING AND
ACCEPTING THE DONATION OF THE MURAL FROM THE
ALLAPATTAH YMCA (YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN
ASSOCIATION, IN COORDINATION WITH MIAMI
JACKSON SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL.
WHEREAS, Allapattah YMCA (Young Men's Christian Association)
received a grant from the Miami -Dade County Cultural Affairs
Council to paint a mural at the Juan Pablo Duarte Park Recreation
Building; and
WHEREAS, the mural will be painted by artist Christian
Bernard of the Bakehouse Art Complex and approximately fifteen
students from Miami Jackson Senior High Art Club; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission approves of the painting of the
mural at said facility;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and
incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.

Section 2. The painting of a mural on the Juan Pablo
Duarte Park Recreation Building is approved and the donation of
the mural from the Allapattah YMCA, in coordination with Miami
Jackson Senior High School, is accepted.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.'/
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of January 2000.

1� If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at
the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
