A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF FUNDS IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,200,000, FOR SPECIAL
OVERTIME PAY TO CONTINUE THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT'S VEHICLE IMPOUNDMENT PROGRAM;
ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE GENERAL
OPERATING BUDGET OF THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE,
ACCOUNT CODE NOS. 001000.290301.6.051,
001000.290305.6.051, AND 001000.290308.6.051.
WHEREAS, the Police Department requires funding for special
overtime pay for the continuation of the Vehicle Impoundment
Program ("VIP"); and
WHEREAS, the VIP targets crime in specific areas in the City
of Miami through proactive police operations; and
WHEREAS, funds to cover the expenses related to the VIP are
available from the General Operating Budget of the Department of
Police, Account Code Nos. 001000.290301.6.051, 001000.290305.6.051, and
001000.290308.6.051;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.

Section 2. The allocation of funds in an amount not to
exceed $1,200,000, for special overtime pay to continue the
Police Department's Vehicle Impoundment Program is hereby
authorized, with funds therefor hereby allocated from the General
Operating Budget of the Department of Police, Account Code
Nos. 001000.290301.6.051, 001000.290305.6.051, and 001000.290308.6.051.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature.of the Mayor.1/

1 / If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at
the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
