WHEREAS, the Department of Conferences, Conventions and Public Facilities, requires maintenance services for the Coconut Grove Convention Center before; during and after scheduled events; and WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, Invitations for Bid No. 99-00-043 were mailed to sixty-two (62) potential providers of said service; and WHEREAS, two (2) bids were received on December 20, 1999; and CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF JAN 1 3 2000 Resolution No. 0' WHEREAS, The City Manager and the,Director of the Department of Conferences, Conventions.and Public Facilities, recommend that the furnishing of events maintenance services at the Coconut Grove Convention, Center from Best's Maintenance & Janitorial Service be accepted as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder; and WHEREAS, funding is available from 1999-2000 Coconut Grove Convention Center Division Budget, Account Code No. 415000.350201.6.340; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are -hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The bid received on December 20, 1999, from Best's Maintenance and Janitorial Service, .for the provision of events maintenance services at the Coconut Grove Convention Center for the Department of Conferences, Conventions and Public Facilities, pursuant to Invitation for Bid No. 99-00-043, at a total annual proposed amount not to exceed $80,000, for a period of one (1) year, with the option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods, is hereby accepted, allocating funds Page 2 for 3 0 0 W U 0 4 therefor from 1999 -2000 -Coconut Grove Convention Center Division Budget, Account Code No. 415000.350201.6.340. This contract is for a period of one (1) year with the option to extend for two (2) additional one (1) year periods subject to the availability of funds. Funds for this service are available from the 1999/00 Coconut Grove Convention Center Division Budget, Account Code No. 415000.350201.6.340. BACKGROUND: Sixty-two (62) bids were mailed to potential bidders on December 3, 1999. On December 20, 1999 two (2) responses were received from potential bidders. Best's Maintenance and Janitorial Service, Inc. submitted the lowest most responsive and responsible bid and is therefore recommended for the award of this Contract.
