AN ORDINANCE OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AMENDING CHAPTER 2/ARTICLE XI OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED "ADMINISTRATION/BOARDS, COMMITTEES, COMMISSIONS" TO REQUIRE THAT THE CITY COMPLY WITH GUIDELINES AND REQUIREMENTS ISSUED BY THE GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTING STANDARDS BOARD ("GASB") AND NOT THE MUNICIPAL FINANCE OFFICERS' ASSOCIATION ("MFOA"), WHICH GUIDELINES AND REQUIREMENTS ARE NO LONGER APPLICABLE; MORE PARTICULARLY BY AMENDING SECTION 2-946 OF SAID CODE; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, provisions contained in Section 2-946 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended (the "Code"), require the City of Miami to comply with the Municipal Finance Officers' Association ("MFOA") guidelines and requirements for its accounting standards; and WHEREAS, MFOA's guidelines �,ka requirements are no longer applicable as acceptable gpvEjrnyjij al accounting standards; and WHEREAS, KPMG, theits external auditor, perform its I " audits and accounkndards p 'nciples in accordance with the Government Auditir issued by the Government Accounting Standards Board"GA and WEREAS, it is necessary to amend the Code to require the City' e with the GASB standards;
