HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC 2000-05-04 City Clerk's Report�V of0 0 FwG� �f9 CITY OF MIAMI "`""`°""" CITY CLERK'S REPORT MEETING DATE: May 4, 2000 Page No. 1 Direction to the City Manager: by Commissioner Teele to designate, with the same degree of diligence used to select the new Police Chief, individuals to hold the positions of (1) Assistant City Manager over Finance and Administration, (2) Budget Director and (3) Finance Director; further directing the Manager to advise the Mayor and the members of the Commission in writing of the names and provide resumes of individuals for said three position appointments. Direction to the City Manager: by Commissioner Teele to schedule for the Commission meeting of May 11, 2000, an ordinance that establishes certain timelines wherein the Commission will give specific instructions to the City Manager concerning activity steps pertaining to the preparation of the budget. Note for the Record: Commissioner Teele stated that the Commission needs to give instructions to the City Manager related to the rollback rate, whether to maintain the same rate or to not raise taxes; further directing the Manager to schedule this issue for Commission consideration at the meeting presently scheduled for May 25, 2000 at the time when the budget amendment is to be considered. A MOTION CREATING THE POSITION OF BUDGET M-00-373 LIAISON/ADVISOR TO THE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE MOVED: TEELE CITY COMMISSION RELATED TO FINANCIAL MATTERS, SECONDED: SANCHEZ THE FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT BOARD AND THE ORDERLY UNANIMOUS TRANSITION PLAN OF A NEW ADMINISTRATION; FURTHER STIPULATING THAT AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $60,000 BE ALLOCATED FOR SAID POSITION, FROM THE MAYOR'S SISTER CITIES NON -DEPARTMENTAL BUDGETARY ACCOUNT EFFECTIVE NOW THROUGH THE END OF FISCAL YEAR 2000; FURTHER DIRECTING THE ADMINISTRATION TO INCLUDE SAID NEW CLASSIFICATION AS AN AMENDMENT TO THE BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE AT THE NEXT CITY COMMISSION MEETING PRESENTLY SCHEDULED FOR MAY 11, 2000.' Direction to the City Manager: by Mayor Carollo to provide copies of all documents, under public records law, in connection with (1) any letters of resignation given to the Manager from City employees and (2) any files that are being kept by the City Manager, as stated by Major Buhrmaster, on members of the City Commission. FQEMAI-VITY CLERK NOTE: AS DULY NOTED ON THE HEREIN AGENDA AND CITY CLERK'S REPORT, WHICH CONSTITUTE A JOURNAL OF CITY COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS, THE "UNANIMOUS" NOTATION NEXT TO THE VOTE ON EACH AGENDA ITEM MEANS THAT ALL FIVE CITY COMMISSIONERS WERE PRESENT AND VOTED "AYE" ON SAID ROLL CALL VOTE. NEGATIVE VOTES, PHYSICAL ABSENCE OF A COMMISSIONER OR ABSTENTION FROM VOTING BY A COMMISSIONER, IF ANY, IS ALSO DULY REFLECTED IN SAID VOTE.
