F s A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE ALL6CATION OF FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $30,000, FROM FISCAL YEAR 2001-2002 BUDGETED FUNDS OF THE CIVIL SERVICE OFFICE, ACCOUNT NO. 240101-250, FOR PAYMENT OF COMPENSATION TO SPECIAL COUNSEL FOR THE CIVIL SERVICE BOARD, INCLUDING ANY REQUIRED RELATED LITIGATION SERVICES. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The allocation of funds, in an amount not to exceed $30,000, from Fiscal Year 2001-2002 Budgeted Funds of the Civil Service Office, Account No. 240101-250, is authorized for payment of compensation to special counsel for the Civil Service Board, including any required related litigation services.!' Funds are available from the Fiscal Year 2001-2002 Budgeted Funds of the Civil Service Office, Account No. 240101-250. Special Counsel to serve as legal advisor to the Civil Service Board is required because the City Attorney prosecutes violators of actions in conflict with Civil Service Rules and Regulations, and therefore, cannot both represent and prosecute cases before the Civil Service Board. The compensation is payable as earned during the period of such counsel's employment. Chiaro Assistant City Attorney DATE: November 19, 2001 RE: Financial review and approval: Allocation of Funds for Special Counsel to the Civil Service Board (J-01-927) Attached is a copy of a resolution which is being placed on the City Commission Agenda for the meeting of December 13, 2001. If approved, payment of compensation, in the amount of $30,000.00, for Special Counsel to the Civil Service Board will be authorized. Funds for said compensation are available from Fiscal Year 2001-2002 Budgeted Funds of the Office of the Hearing Boards, Account No. 240101-250. The compensation is payable as earned during the period of such counsel's employment. Please indicate your review and approval below prior to the request being presented to the City Commission and return this original memorandum to Beverly Solomon, Administrative Assistant II.
