A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
APPOINTING CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS AS MEMBERS OF
THE MIAMI COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN
FOR TERMS AS DESIGNATED HEREIN.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:

Women, each to serve a term expiring November 15, 2002 or until
the nominating Mayor/Commissioner leaves office, whichever

Re: Appointments and reappointments, Commission on the Status of Women
Dear Mr. Teele:
Congratulations on your landslide win on the 6th.
The Commission's November 15th meeting is the time that annual appointments and
reappointments for our Board will be made.
As you are probably aware, Mrs. Nasreen Kabani resigned because of time constraints between
the two full time jobs she is currently involved with.
In her place, we would request that you appoint Ms. Shashi Jagadish. Ms. Jagadish has a
wonderful background also, and has told me that she does have the time in her schedule to
handle the meetings and projects that our Board conducts. I have attached a copy of her resume
for your review.
Additionally, we would appreciate it if you would reappoint Ms. Karen Cartwright, who has
been a very active member of our board since her initial appointment.
