A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, BY
A FOUR-FIFTHS (4/5THs) AFFIRMATIVE VOTE,
RATIFYING, APPROVING AND CONFIRMING THE CITY
MANAGER'S FINDING OF AN EMERGENCY, WAIVING THE
REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPETITIVE SEALED BIDDING
PROCEDURES AND APPROVING THE ACQUISITION OF
REPAIR SERVICES FOR TWO MARINE FORKLIFT TRUCKS
AT MARINE STADIUM MARINA FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF
CONFERENCES, CONVENTIONS AND PUBLIC FACILITIES
FROM VARIOUS VENDORS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $20,000; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE
MARINE STADIUM MARINA OPERATING BUDGET,
ACCOUNT CODE NO. 402003.350508.340.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. By a four-fifths (4/5tn5) affirmative vote
of the City Commission, the City Manager's finding of an
emergency, waiving of the requirements for competitive sealed
bidding procedures, and approving the acquisition of repair
services for two marine forklift trucks at Marine Stadium Marina
for the Department of Conferences, Conventions and Public
Facilities from various vendors, in an amount not to exceed
$20,000, is ratified, approved and confirmed, with funds

Account Code No. 402003.350508.340.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.1�

RECOMMENDATION
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution ratifying,
approving and confirming the City Manager's finding of an emergency, waiving the requirements
for competitive sealed bids and authorizing the Department of Public Facilities to procure on an as -
needed basis repair services for the two marine fork lift trucks at Marine Stadium Marina in an
amount not to exceed $20,000. Funding is available from the Marine Stadium Marina Operating
Budget Account No. 402003.350508.340,
BACKGROUND
Marine Stadium Marina is the City's dry storage marina, berthing over 250 customers' vessels, and
generating over $750,000 in recurring annual revenues. These customers are served by two
specially -equipped marine fork lift trucks. The Department of Conferences, Conventions and
Public Facilities is currently working with the Purchasing Department to solicit formal bids for a
multi-year maintenance contract for repairs to the forklifts as may be necessary to ensure the
successful operation of the marina. Until such time as the process is completed, the ability to repair
the existing forklifts is essential to the ongoing provision of safe, effective, and necessary services
to the customers of the Marina.

Emergency Repairs to Fork Lift
SUBJECT: Truck at Marine Stadium Marina

This serves to request your emergency approval to procure repairs for the two forklifts at
Marine Stadium Marina in an amount not to exceed $20,000.
The City is in the process of procuring a new forklift and plans to solicit formal bids for a
multi-year maintenance contract for repairs to the forklifts as may be necessary to ensure the
successful operation of the marina. However, until such time as the process is completed, we
require the ability to repair the existing forklifts.
Fundi are available from Marine Stadium Marina operating budget account
#403003.350508.340.
