BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. By a four-fifths (4/5tn5) affirmative vote of the City Commission, the City Manager's finding of an emergency, waiving of the requirements for competitive sealed bidding procedures, and approving the acquisition of repair services for two marine forklift trucks at Marine Stadium Marina for the Department of Conferences, Conventions and Public Facilities from various vendors, in an amount not to exceed $20,000, is ratified, approved and confirmed, with funds CITY COMSSIO MEETING 017 �a.j allocated from the Marine Stadium Marina Operating Budget, Account Code No. 402003.350508.340. Funding is available from the Marine Stadium Marina Operating Budget Account No. 402003.350508.340, BACKGROUND Marine Stadium Marina is the City's dry storage marina, berthing over 250 customers' vessels, and generating over $750,000 in recurring annual revenues. These customers are served by two specially -equipped marine fork lift trucks. The Department of Conferences, Conventions and Public Facilities is currently working with the Purchasing Department to solicit formal bids for a multi-year maintenance contract for repairs to the forklifts as may be necessary to ensure the successful operation of the marina. Until such time as the process is completed, the ability to repair the existing forklifts is essential to the ongoing provision of safe, effective, and necessary services to the customers of the Marina. The City is in the process of procuring a new forklift and plans to solicit formal bids for a multi-year maintenance contract for repairs to the forklifts as may be necessary to ensure the successful operation of the marina. However, until such time as the process is completed, we require the ability to repair the existing forklifts.
