RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 01-851.1 WHICH
AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED THE CITY MANAGER TO
(1) INITIATE PROCEDURES FOR RECEIPT AND
DISSEMINATION OF MONIES TO BE COLLECTED TO
ASSIST THE VICTIMS OF THE ACTS OF TERRORISM
ENACTED AGAINST THE UNITED STATES ON
SEPTEMBER 11, 2001, AND (2) ALLOCATE CITY OF
MIAMI, FUNDS IN AN AMOUNT UP TO $500,000,
BASED UPON A DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR MATCH OF
CONTRIBUTIONS COLLECTED FROM THE CITIZENS OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BY THE CITY OF MIAMI, THE
CITY'S FIREFIGHTERS (INTERNATIONAL
ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS, AFL-CIO
LOCAL 587), AND OTHER PARTICIPATING
ORGANIZATIONS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. Resolution No. 01-851.1 is amended in the
following particulars:1/
"RESOLUTION NO. 01-851.1
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized and
directed to take all steps necessary to initiate
procedures for receipt and dissemination of monies to

allocate funds from the Strategic Reserve Funds and
other funds as appropriate, in an amount up to
$500,000, based upon a dollar for dollar match of
contributions collected from the citizens wishing ...

Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective

2i If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become
effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was
passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City
Commission.
