Mr. Carlos Gimenez
Manager, City of Miami

Miami, FL 33130
Dear Mr. Gimenez,
The Grove Tree -Man Trust (Trust) would like to install 60 native trees in the public right
of way of the West Grove. The trees and their installation will cost $24,700. These trees
will be installed at no cost to the City of Miami. The Trust will maintain the trees and
replace them if they die. Mr. Homer Whittaker of the SW Grove NET office and I have
picked locations for the trees. The locations include empty planters, dumpsites and open
areas in the public right of way. The Trust will confirm the locations with Mr. Whittaker
prior to submitting the map to the City of Miami Public Works Department for
permitting.
Please put this item on the next City Commission agenda so that the Trust will be able to
pull permits and plant the trees in late November. The Trust is being reimbursed for the
cost of the trees through a grant and must have the trees in the ground by the end of
November in order to be eligible for reimbursement.
If you have any questions feel free to call me. I look forward to working with you and
your staff in improving our city.
Sincerely yours,
J es G. McMaster
resident, The Grove Tree -Man Trust
