BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The appointment of the following individuals, selected by the herein designated certified bargaining units, are hereby confirmed as members of the Equal. The board also reviews employment policies and practices of the City and makes recommendations to the Department of Human Resources. Four appointments and two confirmations of appointments are needed at this time: • Commissioner Winton has one nomination: 1. One for vacant seat created because Rasha Soray, who had been nominated by former Commissioner Plummer, resigned. • Commissioner Regalado has one nomination for seat currently held by Rosa Kasse, who resigned. • Commissioner Sanchez has one nomination for seat currently held by Ivan Barrett whose term has expired and who has exceeded the number of absences allowed by the City Code. • Vice Chairman Gort has one nomination for seat currently held by Johnny Matthews who has exceeded the number of absences allowed by the City Code. • The Commission At -Large is requested to confirm the following two appointments: 1. Henry S. Harrison, who was nominated by the Miami Association of Fire Fighters. 2. Shad Fields, who was nominated by AFSCML Local 871 (for sanitation). For your information, attached please find a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy of this memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to place this issue on the September 13, 2001 Commission agenda. This issue was partly deferred from the February 8, 2001, April 26, 2001 and June 14/25, 2001 Commission meetings.
