Funds are available from Account Code Number 001000.280601.6.670. BACKGROUND The City of Miami Department of Fire -Rescue Garage is responsible for the repair and maintenance of the Department's truck fleet as well as specialty firefighting equipment. Due to the hazardous nature of fire -rescue services, vehicular accidents and damage are inevitable. Returning a first line vehicle to service after an accident is critical to the mission of the Department of Fire -Rescue. The Department of Fire -Rescue has analyzed the bids received pursuant Bid No. 00-01-097 for the procurement of auto body work repair, refurbishment and painting of City vehicles. 48 Invitation for Bids were mailed and seven (7) responses were received. Palm Truck Center is located in bort Lauderdale and the division felt it would not be practical to use this vendor as this vendor has the highest hourly rate. Please find enclosed a site inspection checklist used to inspect each of the vendors. This checklist is made up of ten criteria identified in the specifications provided by Procurement. Three (3) of the vendors Molina Garage, Cubanshine Fraine & Body Shop Inc., and World Motor do not have spray booths that will accommodate even our smallest emergency vehicles and should be disqualified.
