Page 2 of 2 r` UI U • 0 CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA =5 INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM TO: The Honorable Mayor and Members DATE : FILE: of the City Commission AIIG 2 9 SUBJECT: Proposed Resolution FRO Til nez REFERENCES Repairs to the Auto Pound City Manage ENCLOSURES: Perimeter Fence Bid No. 00-01-178 RECOMMENDATION It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution accepting the bid of Ronald Gibbons, a Black/Dade County vendor, located at 1301 N.W. 198 Street, Miami, Florida 33169, for the provision of repairs to the Police Department's Auto Pound Perimeter Fence, on an as needed contract basis, for a period of one (1) year with the option to renew for two (2) additional one year periods, in an annual amount not to exceed $15,000. Funding is available from the Police General Operating; Budget, Account Code No. 001000.290201.6.670. BACKGROUND The Police Department has analyzed the bids received pursuant to Bid No. 00-01-178. Thirty-two (32) invitations for bid were mailed and one (1) response was received. Ronald Gibbons, submitted the only responsible and responsive bid and is, therefore, recommended for the award. Due to the sensitive nature of evidence housed at the Police Department's Auto Pound, any break or other damage to the perimeter fence (exterior and/or interior fence) or gates must be repaired as expeditiously as possible. As a consequence a repair estimate must be received and repairs must commence within 48 hours.
