A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
COMPUTING A PROPOSED MILi_,11GE RATE FOR THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, FOR FISCAL YEAR
BEGINNING OCTOBER 1., 2.001 AND ENDING
SEPTEMBER 30, 2002, PURSUI-QNT TO SECTION
2.00.065, FLORIDA STA'rU'TIJS (2000); DIRECTING
THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT SAID PROPOSED
MILLAGE RATE TO THE M1.AI,41I-RADE COUNTY
PROPERTY APPRAISER AND TiiE TAX COLLECTOR,
TOGETHER WITH THE DATE, TIME AND PLrACF OF THE
PUBLIC BEARING AT WHICH THE CI''Y COMMISSION
WILL CONSIDER THE PROPOSED MILLAGE RATE AND
THE CI'.CY, S TENTATIVE BUDGET FOR SAID FISCAL
YEAR.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. A proposed m]".11age race for the City of
Miami, Florida, for Fiscal Year. beai.nni.ng October 1, 2001 and
ending September 30, 2002, is computed as follows:
General. Operating 8.995
Debi: Service 1 , 21.8
Total. Mi.11age Rate, 10.213
Section. 2. The City Manager is directed to submit said
proposed millage rate for the City of Miami to the Property
Appraiser and to the Tax Collector, together with the date, time

and place at which the City Commission will hold a public hearing
to consider the proposed millage rate and the City's tentative
budget for said fiscal year as follows: September 13, 2001 at
5:05 P.M. and September 25, 2001 at 5:05 P.M. in the Commission
Chambers at City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Dinner Key,
Miami, Florida.
Section 3. This Rcsolution shall become effective
immediately upon it.�; adoption and signature of the Mayor.!,

RECOMMENDATION
It is respectfully reconunended that the City Commission approve the attached resolution computing
a proposed millage rate for the City of Miami in the fiscal Year beginning October 1, 2001 and
ending September 30, 2002, and instructing the City Manager to submit said proposed millage rate
along with the datc, time and place of the budget hearing to the Miami -Dade County Property Tax
Appraiser and the Tax Collector,

BACKGROUND
According to the Sate of Florida's TRIM (Truth in Millage) law municipalities have to compute a
proposed millage rate and submit said rate to the Property Appraiser and the Tax Collector together
with the date, time and place of the public hearing at which the City Commission will consider said
proposed millage rate and tentative budget for said fiscal year.
