CITY OF MIAMI, IN THE U.S. DISTRICT COURT FOR THE SOUTHERN DTSTRICT OF FLORIDA, CASE NO. 00 -2930 -CIV -KING, IN THE AMOUNT OF $50,000 PLUS COSTS AS APPROVED BY THE CITY ATTORNEY; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE SELF-INSURANCE AND INSURANCE; TRUST FUND, ACCOUNT CODE NO. 515001.624401.6.652, FOR SAID SERVICES. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The engagement of the law firm of Ronald J. Cohen, P.A. for representation of Police Officer Alejandro Macias in the case of Lynn and Perry Runnels, as personal representatives of the Estate of Jesse Stuart Runnels vs. City of Miami, i.n the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Case No. 00 -2930 -CIV -KING, in the amount of. $50,000 plus costs as approved by the City Attorney, is authorized, with MUTIM Jell 2 6 2001 s..okalm W - 790 • 0 funds allocated from the Self -Insurance and Insurance Trust Fund, Account Code No. 515001.624401.6.652, for said services. Macias, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Case No. 00 -2930 -Civ -King (J-01-650) The attached proposed Resolution seeks authorization for the engagement of the law firm of Ron Cohen, P.A., for representation of Officer Alejandro Macias in the case of Runnels vs. City of Miami and Officer Alejandro Macias, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Case No. 00 -2930 -Civ -King, in the amount of $50,000 plus costs as approved by the City Attorney. After an initial appearance by the City Attorney's Office, a conflict of interest arose which precludes our continued representation of the parties in this case.
