A RESOLUTION OF' THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT
GRANTS FROM MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA IN
THE AMOUNT OF $39,123 TO CONSTRUCT
WHEELCHAIR -ACCESSIBLE CONCRETE WALKWAYS AND
INCREASE THE NUMBER OF DESIGNATED HANDICAP
PARKING SPACES AT SHENANDOAH PARK, AND IN
THE AMOUNT OF $6,119 FOR THE ACQUISITION AND
INSTALLATION OF PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT AT
KINLOCH PARK; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS,
IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY,
TO ACCEPT SAID GRANTS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to accept
grants from Miami -Dade County, Florida in the amount of $39,123
to construct wheelchair -accessible concrete walkways and
increase the number of designated handicap parking spaces at
Shenandoah Park, and in the amount of $6,119 for the acquisition
and installation of playground equipment at Kinloch Park.

Section 2. The City Manager is further authorized!' to
execute all necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the
City Attorney, to accept said grants.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.?

Grants from Miami -Dade
County

it is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt
the attached Resolution accepting two (2) grants from Miami -Dade
County Office of PDA Coordination in the amount of $34,123 for
Shenandoah Park and $6,119 for Kinloch Park.
BACKGROUND:
The Miami -Dade County Office of ADA Coordination has awarded the
City two (2) grants in the total amount of $40,242 for handicap
accessible walkways, parking spaces and playground equipment for
two (2) City parks. One (1) grant in the amount of $34,123 is
to construct a wheel -chair accessible concrete walkway and
increase the number of handicap parking spaces at Shenandoah
Park. The other grant in the amount of $6,11.9 is for the
acquisition and installations of playground equipment at Kinloch
Park. In order to accept said grants, your approval of the
attached Resolution is recommended.
