PROJECTS AS DESTGNATED HEREIN FOR 'T'HE SAFE
NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS BOND PROGRAM, BOND SER77S
2001, YEl, AR FOUR FUNDING; AUTHORTZTNG THE
CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT SAID GRANT AWARDS AND
TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A
FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE: CITY ATTORNEY, TO
IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANTS; FURTHER
AUTHORIZING, PURSUAN'.1' TO TFI7, PROV:TSIONS OF
THE SA'T'E NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS ORDINANCE, THE
PAYMENT OF: (1) SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDS REQUIRED

City of Miami to provide any supplemental. funds required to
complete the Project may, at the sole discretion of the
Committee, be, modified in wholo or in part by a reduction in
scope of work consistent wit=h the Ordinance.
Section 4. The City of. Miami recognizes and directs
that any beach, park, or.' other public facility acquired,
developed, rehabilitated or restored w,i.th bond funds, including
the Projects, shall be open and accessible to the public without
discr.:.mi.nat:ion ,.is to race, color, gender., age, religion, belief,
residence, natural origin, marital status or disabilit=y.
Section ii. To the extent allowed by law, City of Miami
shall commit any and all funds, which may be required to
operate, inainttait.n and provide programming at each park project
upon i-ts completion.
Section 6. Al:?. grants received shall be used solely for
the projects for which they have been designated.
Section 7. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.."

RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the City. Commission adopt
the attached Resolution, authorizing the City Manager to accept
grants in the amount of $204,950 for Interest projects from
Miami -Dade County Safe Neighborhood Park Bond Program, Bond
Series 2001 (Year 4 funding). The Resolution further authorizes
the City Manager to execute the necessary document(s), in a form
acceptable to the City Attorney, to implement said grants. In
addition, the Resolution authorizes the payment of: (1)
supplemental funds required to complete said projects if the
costs of said projects exceed the grant allocation; .(2) funds
to operate, maintain and provide programming at each project
upon its completion.
BACKGROUND:
The adoption of the proposed Resolution authorizes applications
already made for interest projects in the amount of $204,950 for
Year four (4) funding (Bond Series 2001) of the SNPB program for
the these projects:

In addition, the resolution authorizes the City Manager to
accept these grants and execute the necessary agreement in order
to implement Ithe projects funded with these funds.
