The bid of Royal Engineering Construction, Inc., the lowest responsive and responsible bidder pursuant to Invitation for Bids No. 00•-01-163, dated June 19, 2001, in the proposed amount of $199,785 for the project entitled "Little Havana Sidewalk Replacement Project, B-4631" for the total bid �!� OOIOONI� Axa or JUL 2 6 2001 01— 737 0 i of the proposal, based on lump sum and unit prices, is accepted at the price stated herein. Section 2. The total estimated project costa of $218,370 are allocated from Project No. 341170, as appropriated by the Annual Appropriations and Capital Improvement Projects Ordinances, as amended. The total project costs consist of $199,785 for contract costs and $18,585 for estimated expenses incurred by the City. Section 3. The City Manager is authorizedY to execute an agreement, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, with Royal Engineering Construction, Znc. for the project. Section A. This Resolution shall become offeative immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.!' The herein authorization is further subject to .compliance with all requirements that may be unposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. Yf the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become Affective az the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. Miranda, President, for "Little Havana Sidewalk Replacement Project, B-4631", received June 19, 2001, in the amount of $199,785.00, Total Bid, authorizing the City Manager to enter into an agreement on behalf of the City. BACKGROUND Royal Engineering Construction, Inc., has not had a contract with the City for the past two years. Any bid submitted after the above appointed time will not be accepted by the City Clerk. The proposed work for this project consists of the removal of existing brick pavers, preparation of the subgrade and base, and re- nstallation of existing salvageable and new brick pavers at the following locations: 1) On both sides along S.W. 6'°, 7"and 8"' Street between 12'--171h Avenue, 2) Qn both sides along 17`h Avenue between W. Flagler Street and S.W. 8"' Street; and 3) On both sides along S.W. IT 14'", 15'r, and 16'h Avenue between S W 5"' and 8"Street. New brick pavers of equal type, color, and dimension are to be installed at the locations where existing removed pavers cannot be salvaged.
