MTAMI CITY COMMISSION CODESIGNATING NORTHWiES1 55r" STRFET FROM NORTHWEST 17"" 'CO 19TH AVENUES, MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS "MABLE DEAN BARLOW' S WAY", WITH ALL CITY COSTS FOR SAID DESIGNATION TO BE BORNE BY THE CITY; FURTHRR DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE HEREIN DESIGNATED OFFICES. WHEREAS, pursuant to City Commission directive, the Miami Street Codesignation Review Committee at its meeting of July 5, 2001, reviewed and recommended a proposal for the codesignation of Northwest 55`' Street from Northwest 17th to 19`h Avenues, Miami., Florida, as "MABLF DEAN BARLOW'S WAY," to honor the individual who was an educator, volunteer, and friend who labored diligently to help the black children in the community; and WHEREAS, the City Commission affirms the recommendation of the Miami Street Codesignation Review Committee and wishes to honor Mable Dean Barlow, with all City costs for said designation to be borne by the City ca JU L 19 2001 ©`A 8 . NOW, THEREFORE, BR : RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully sct forth in this Section. Section 2. Northwest 55" Street from Northwest 17th to 19th Avenues, Miami, Florida, is codesignated as "M4BLE DEAN BARLOW'S WAY," with all City costs for said designation to be borne by the City. Section 3. The City Manager is directed to instruct the. Director of Public Works to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the City of Miami Departments of Police, Fire -Rescue, General Services Administration and Solid Waste, the Miami -Dade County Department of Public Works and United States Postal Service. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor Y if If the Mayor does not sign this Raeoauticjs, it shall become effective at the and of tan calendar dayn frorn the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the vatp by the City Commission.
