SOU'T'HWEST STN '."O SOUTHWEST 12Th STREETS,
MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS -BOBBY FULLER WAY";
FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO
INSTRUCT THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO
TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE
HEREIN DESIGNATED OFFICES.
WHEREAS, pursuant to City Commission directive, the Miami
Street Codesignation Review Committee at its meeting of
July 5, 2001, reviewed and recommended a proposal for the
codesignation of Southwest 19`h Avenue from Southwest 8th to
Southwest 12" Streets as "Hobby Fuller. Way" to honor the
individual who sacrificed his life to instill a fighting spirit
in those seeking to free their Cuban homeland of communism; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission affirms the recommendation of
the Miami Street Codesignation Review Committee and wishes to
honor Bobby Fuller; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and
Incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Southwest 19th Avenue from Southwest 8th to
Southwest 12th Streets, Miami, Florida, is designated as
"Bobby Fuller Way."
Section 3. The City Manager is directed to instruct the
Director of Public Works to transmit a copy of this Resolution to
the City of Miami Departments of Police, Fire -Rescue, General
Services Administration and Solid Waste, the Miami -Dade County
Department of Public Works and United States Postal Service.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor Y
if the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at
the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
If the Mayor vetoers this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the city commission.

RF.COMMEND-ATION
The City of Miami Street Codesignation Committee recommends that the City of Miami
Commission adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the codesignation of SW 19 Avenue from
SW 8 Street to SW 12 Street as "Bobby Fuller Way".
BACKGROUND
Mr. Fuller was a gallant warrior who fought for the freedom of Cuba. As a serviceman he knew
the risks, as a person he understood the anguish. In order to free those imprisoned in
communism, he paid the ultimate price.
