A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
APPROVING THE CITY'S CO-SPONSORSHIP OF THE
TEATRO AVANTE INTERNATIONAL HISPANIC THEATER
FESTIVAL XVI CO -PRESENTED BY TEATRO AVANTE,
AMERICAN AIRLINES, MIAMI-DADE COMMUNITY
COLLEGE CULTURAL AFFAIRS, AND THE FLORIDA
DANCE ASSOCIATION, TO BE HELD JUNE 1-17,
2001, AT SIX SOUTH FLORIDA CITIES IN M:AMI-
DADE AND BROWARD COUNTIES; AUTHORIZING THE
PLACEMENT OF LIGHT POLE BANNERS TO PROMOTE
THE FESTIVAL; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS,
IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY,
WITH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
AND FESTIVAL CO -PRESENTERS FOR SAID PURPOSE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City's co-sponsorship of the Teatro
Avante International Hispanic Theater Festival XVI, co -presented
by Teatro Avante, American Airlines, Miami -Dade Community College
Cultural Affairs, and the Florida Dance Association, to be held
June 1-1.7, 2001, is approved, and the placement of light pole
banners to promote the festival is authorized.

Section 2. The City Manager is authorized" to execute
the necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City
Attorney, with the Florida Department of Transportation and
festival co -presenters for said purpose.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.11

The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all
requirements that may be imposed by the Cl.ty Attorney, including but not
limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.

the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upor. override of the veto by the City Commission.
