HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-01-0532J-01-446 5/23/01 0 • RESOLUTION NO. 01- 532 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION APPROVING THE CITY'S CO-SPONSORSHIP OF THE TEATRO AVANTE INTERNATIONAL HISPANIC THEATER FESTIVAL XVI CO -PRESENTED BY TEATRO AVANTE, AMERICAN AIRLINES, MIAMI-DADE COMMUNITY COLLEGE CULTURAL AFFAIRS, AND THE FLORIDA DANCE ASSOCIATION, TO BE HELD JUNE 1-17, 2001, AT SIX SOUTH FLORIDA CITIES IN M:AMI- DADE AND BROWARD COUNTIES; AUTHORIZING THE PLACEMENT OF LIGHT POLE BANNERS TO PROMOTE THE FESTIVAL; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, WITH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND FESTIVAL CO -PRESENTERS FOR SAID PURPOSE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City's co-sponsorship of the Teatro Avante International Hispanic Theater Festival XVI, co -presented by Teatro Avante, American Airlines, Miami -Dade Community College Cultural Affairs, and the Florida Dance Association, to be held June 1-1.7, 2001, is approved, and the placement of light pole banners to promote the festival is authorized.
