WHEREAS, the Department of General Services Administration requires the procurement of two complete aerial bucket trucks with a 38-42 foot boom, Model L42A, to replace aged and worn-out trucks that are no longer cost effective to maintain and operate; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of General Services Administration recommend the procurement of two aerial bucket trucks from Al tec Industries, Inc., under existing City of Key West, Florida, CES Bid No. 08-00, be approved; and fes'!' WHEREAS, funds are available from Capital Improvement Project No. 311702.429401.6.840; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI., FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The procurement of two complete aerial bucket trucks, with a 38 -42 -foot boom, Model L42A, from Altec Industries, Inc. for the Department of General Services Administration, under existing City of Key West, Florida, CES Bid No. 08-00, in an amount not to exceed $193,254, is approved, with funds allocated from Capital Improvement. Project No. 311702.429401.6.840. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.11 1� If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. BACKGROUND The Department of General Services Administration seeks to purchase two (2) complete aerial bucket trucks to be used by the Public Works Department. The Department of Public Works currently has three aerial bucket trucks used for trimming trees in the right-of-way. These trucks are old and are frequently in the shop for repairs.
