A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
APPROVING AND SUPPORTING THE CITY OF MIAMI'S
PARTICIPATION IN THE COMMUNITY -WIDE JULY 4TH
FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA, COORDINATED BY THE
BAYFRONT PARK MANAGEMENT TRUST (TRUST),
R. PANIAGUA, INC. ("RPI") AND BAYSIDE
MARKETPLACE ("BAYSIDE"), WHEREBY THE
COMMUNITIES OF MIAMI, MIAMI BEACH AND KEY
BISCAYNE WILL TOGETHER PRODUCE ONE OF THE
LARGEST SYNCHRONIZED RADIO SIMULCASTED
FIREWORKS SPECTACULARS IN THE UNITED STATES.
WHEREAS, the Mildred and Claude Pepper Bayfront Park
Management Trust was created by the City Commission to direct,
operate, manage and maintain all aspects of Mildred and Claude
Pepper Bayfront Park; and
WHEREAS, Bayfront Park, the City of Miami's premier public
park, hosts more than 50 special events and concerts annually;
and
WHEREAS, on July 4, 2000, the Trust, RPI and Bayside jointly
produced a successful and cost effective United States
Independence Day Celebration; and

WHEREAS, in preparation for July 4, 2001, representatives of
the Trust, RPI and Bayside have met with representatives from
Miami Beach and Key Biscayne to coordinate a community -wide
fireworks display and an event that will unify the communities on
this our nation's most important anniversary;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and
incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City of Miami's participation in the
community -wide July 4 t Fireworks Extravaganza, coordinated by
the Bayfront Park Management Trust, R. Paniagua, Inc., and
Bayside MarketPlace, whereby the communities of Miami, Miami
Beach and Key Biscayne will together produce one of the largest
synchronized radio simulcasted fireworks spectaculars in the
United States, is approved and supported.

Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor."

ii If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at
the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If
the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately
upon override of the veto by the City Commission.

4th of July Fireworks
I respectfully request that the City Commission consider approving and supporting the
City of Miami's participation in the Community -wide July 4 h Fireworks Extravaganza,
coordinated by the Bayfront Park Management Trust, R. Paniagua, Inc. and Bayside
Marketplace. The Communities of Miami, Miami Beach and Key Biscayne will unite to
produce one of the largest coordinated fireworks event in the United States, which will
be synchronized to music simulcast by local radio stations.
