Foeman City Clerk CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM DATE: March 5, 2001 :V FILE : SUBJECT: Committee on Beautification and Environment REFERENCES: April 12, 2001 Agenda ENCLOSURES: List of Members, Resolution The Committee on Beautification and Environment was created to encourage and to participate in projects that will enhance the natural beauty and ecological quality of Greater Miami. This committee consists of up to 50 official members, which the Commission appoints. Traditionally, the Commission has accepted a slate of nominees proffered by the committee Chairperson. The Chairperson of the committee, Mr. Stephen D. Pearson, has submitted the slate of nominees the board wishes to have reappointed (copy attached). The names crossed out are individuals who are current members, but are not being resubmitted for reappointment. Some of the members being recommended for appointment also need a waiver of the residency requirement contained in Section 2-884 of the Code, by four-fifths vote of the membership of the Commission. In the past, the Commission has granted a blanket waiver for these members. By copy of this memorandum, we are requesting that the City Manager place this issue on the April 12, 2001 agenda.
