RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 00-251 AUTHORIZING AN
INCREASE IN THE CONTRACT WITH MITCHELL'S LAWN
MAINTENANCE CORP. FOR THE PROVISION OF LAWN
AND GROUNDS MAINTENANCE SERVICES AT THREE
ADDITIONAL POLICE FACILITY SITES, IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $487.50, FROM $15,217 TO
$15,704.50 FOR THE FIRST YEAR, AND IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,020, FROM $14,232 TO
$15,252 ANNUALLY FOR THE SECOND AND THIRD
YEARS OF THE CONTRACT; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
THE POLICE GENERAL OPERATING BUDGET, ACCOUNT
CODE NO. 001000.290201.6.340.
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 00-251, adopted March 23, 2000,
accepted the bid of Mitchell's Lawn Maintenance Services for the
provision of lawn and ground maintenance services at various
police facilities, on a contract basis for one year, with the
option to extend for two additional one-year periods; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Police requires an increase in the
contract with Mitchell's Lawn Maintenance Services to include
grounds maintenance services for three additional sites; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Chief of Police recommend
that an increase in the contract with Mitchell's Lawn Maintenance
Services, in an amount not to exceed $487.50, from $15,217 to

$15,704.50 for the first year, and in an amount not to exceed
$1,020, from $14,232 to $15,252 annually for each subsequent year
of the contract, be approved; and
WHEREAS, funds
for this
service are
available from
the
Police General
Operating
Budget,
Account
Code
No. 001000.290201.6.340;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and
incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Resolution No. 00-251, adopted
March 23, 2000, is amended in the following particulars:!/

January 31, 2000, from Mitchell's Lawn
Maintenance Corp., for the provision of lawn
and grounds maintenance services at various
police facilities, pursuant to Invitation for
Bids No. 99-00-028, for the Department of
Police, on a contract basis for one (1) year
with the option to extend for two (2)
additional one (1) year periods, at a first
year amount not to exceed $15,217 $15,704.50,

ENCLOSURES:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution amending
Resolution No. 00-251, increasing the approved amount for the first year's contract from $15,217
to $15,704.50, and the total annual amount for subsequent years from $14,232 to $15,252, for the
provision of grounds maintenance services at various police facilities from Mitchell's Lawn
Maintenance Corp.
Funding is to be provided from the Police General Operating Budget, from Account Code
001000.290201.6.340.
BACKGROUND
The Police Department is requesting an increase in the contract for the provision of grounds
maintenance services. The increase is necessary to add three (3) additional sites requiring ground
maintenance services.

services at various police facilities. Funding is available from the Police General Operating

No. 99-00-028 were mailed to fifty-eight (58) potential
providers; and
WHEREfiS, four (4) bids were received on January 31, 2000;
and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Chief of Police recommend
that the bid received from Mitchell's Lawn Maintenance Corp., be
accepted as the lowest responsive and responsible bid; and
