FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PRINTING SERVICES FOR THE 1999-2000 CITY OF MIAMI DEPARTMENT OF POLICE ANNUAL REPORT, FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $13,045; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE SPECIAL REVENUE PARTNERSHIP FUND, ACCOUNT CODE NO. 142010.290479.6.680. WHEREAS, the Department of Police requires printing services to produce its Annual Report, which sets forth the Department's accomplishments throughout the year and is distributed to local, national and international public and private organizations; and WHEREAS, competitive proposals were solicited from three vendors and Solo Printing, Inc. provided the lowest responsive and responsible proposal; and CITY COMSSION MEETING OF MAR 2 9 2001 plawkAum MD. 01- 270 WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Chief of Police recommend that the City Manager execute an agreement with Solo Printing, Inc. for said services; and WHEREAS, funds are available from the Special Revenue Partnership Fund, Account Code No. 142010.290479.6.680; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized!' to execute an agreement, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, with Solo Printing, Inc. for the acquisition of printing services for the 1999-2000 City of Miami Department of Police Annual Report, for a period of one (1) year, in an amount not to exceed $13,045, with funds allocated from the Special Revenue Partnership Fund, Account Code No. 142010.290479.6.680. 1� The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. Funding will be available from a special revenue fund entitled the Partnership Fund, Account Code No. 142010.290479.6.680. BACKGROUND The Police Department produces an Annual Report that portrays its accomplishments from throughout the year. This publication is used to promote the department in a positive light. It is also used for public information purposes. The report is given to community leaders, community organizations, government officials, foreign visitors, the media and others who request crime statistics and/or other information on the Miami Police Department. In addition, it is disseminated at conferences and other special events. For the fourth consecutive year, the department has formed partnerships with various companies to fund the printing of this report. The Police Department has offered packages that include an advertisement and a Plaque of Appreciation in exchange for sponsorship. The department sought competitive proposals from three vendors: Solo Printing, Inc., American National, Ltd., and King Graphics, Corp. Solo Printing provided the most advantageous proposal to the City and is willing to donate $2,500 worth of covers (three panel) for this publication. The proposed Resolution will provide funding for printing services that are needed for the publication of the 1999/2000 Miami Police Annual Report. These services will include printing, binding, color separation, and scanning of the fifty-six (56) interior pages of this publication.
