Home My WebLink AboutR-01-0263J-01-209 3/19/01 P RESOLUTION NO. 0 263 A RESOLUTION BY THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ACCEPTING THE BID OF HARRISON UNIFORM FOR THE PROCUREMENT OF UNIFORM CLOTHING FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE -RESCUE URBAN SEARCH AND RESCUE TEAM ("USAR"), IN AN ANNUAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $7,000, ON A CONTRACT BASIS, FOR ONE (1) YEAR WITH THE OPTION TO RENEW FOR TWO (2) ADDITIONAL ONE (1) YEAR PERIODS; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE FEMA/USAR GRANT AWARD, ACCOUNT CODE NO. 110091.280907.6.840. WHEREAS, the City of Miami Urban Search and Rescue Team ("USAR") is funded by the Federal Emergency Management Administration ("FEMA"); and WHEREAS, the Department of Fire -Rescue requires the procurement of uniform clothing for the USAR Teams to assure that the teams are fully equipped and ready for deployment at a all times, as required by FEMA; and WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, Invitation for Bids No. 99-00-292 was mailed to thirty-six (36) potential bidders; and CITY COMUSSION MEETING OF MAR 2 9 2001 01- 263 I WHEREAS, seven (7) responsive bids were received on February 7, 2001; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Chief of the Department of Fire -Rescue recommend that the bid received from Harrison Uniform be accepted as the lowest responsive and responsible bid when all items are added in the aggregate; and WHEREAS, funds are available from the FEMA/USAR Grant Award, Account Code No. 110091.280907.6.840; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The February 7, 2001 bid received from Harrison Uniform for the procurement of uniform clothing for the Department of Fire -Rescue Urban Search and Rescue Team (USAR), in an annual amount not to exceed $7,000, on a contract basis, for one (1) year with the option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods, with funds allocated from the FEMA/USAR Grant Award, Account Code No. 110091.280907.6.840.
