A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
ACCEPTING THE BID OF CONVAULT FLORIDA FOR THE
ACQUISITION OF SERVICES TO RECONDITION FUEL
TANKS AT THE FIRE STATIONS FOR THE DEPARTMENT
OF FIRE -RESCUE, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$15,005; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM ACCOUNT CODE
NO. 313302.289301.6.270, AS FUNDED BY THE
FIRE ASSESSMENT FEE.
WHEREAS, the National Fire Protection Association ("NFPA")
requires that fuel tanks at fire stations be reconditioned to
prevent peeling paint, and exposed metal and rust from becoming a
fire hazard; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, Invitation for Bids
No. 99-00-223 was mailed to eight (8) potential bidders; and
WHEREAS, three (3) responsive bids were received on
December 27, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Chief of Fire -Rescue
recommend that the bid received from Convault Florida be accepted
as the lowest responsive and responsible bid; and

WHEREAS, funds are available from Account Code
No. 313302.289301.6.270, as funded by the Fire Assessment Fee;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and
incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The December 27, 2000 bid received from
Convault Florida for the acquisition of services to recondition
fuel tanks at the fire stations for the Department of
Fire -Rescue, in an amount not to exceed $15,005, is accepted,
with funds allocated from Account Code No. 313302.289301.6.270,
as funded by the Fire Assessment Fee.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor Y

the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.

Of Fuel Tanks

It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution accepting the bid of
Convault Florida, located at 1410 Industrial Dr., Wildwood, Florida, 34785, a Non-
Minority/Non-Local vendor for the procurement of services to recondition of fuel tanks at the fire
stations in compliance with NFPA requirements for a total amount not to exceed $15,005, for the
Department of Fire -Rescue. Funds are available from account code 313302.289301.6.270, Fire
Assessment.
BACKGROUND
Tanks at the fire stations must' be reconditioned periodically as per NFPA requirements. Should
they not be serviced, peeling paint, exposed metal and rust can become a fire hazard at the fire
stations.

opportunity to present questions to staff and obtain clarification of the requirements of the
Bid documents. It is mandatory that a representative (s) of the bidder attend in order to
qualify to bid.
