FOR THE PROCUREMENT AND INSTALLATION OF THREE (3) NEW HEATING, VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING ("H.V.A.C.") UNITS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $72,170; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM ACCOUNT CODE NOS. 311016.429301.6.840 AND 311704.429301.6.840. WHEREAS, the Department of General Services Administration ("GSA") requires the procurement and installation of three (3) heating, ventilation and air conditioning units ("H.V.A.C.") to replace old, inefficient and unreliable units at the GSA building; and WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, Invitation for Bids No. 99-00-165 was mailed to thirty-six (36) potential bidders; and WHEREAS, eight (8) responses were received on September 11, 2000; and CITY COQ MEETING OF,, MAR - 8 2001 0 213 WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of General Services Administration recommend that the bid received from City Air, Inc., be accepted as the lowest responsive and responsible bid; and WHEREAS, funds are available from Account Code Nos. 311016.429301.6.840 and 311704.429301.6.840; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The September 11, 2000 bid from City Air, Inc., for the procurement and installation of three (3) new heating, ventilation and air conditioning ("H.V.A.C.") units for the Department of General Services Administration, in an amount not to exceed $72,170, is accepted, with funds allocated from Account Code Nos. 311016.429301.6.840 and 311704.429301.6.840. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor Y �i If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. Systems For the Department of REFERENCES: General Services Administration ENCLOSURES: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution accepting the bid of City Air, Inc., a Hispanic/Dade vendor, located at 8396. N.W. 70 Street, Miami, Florida 33166 for the purchase and installation of three (3) new H.V.A.C. (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) units for the General Services Administration building, for a total award amount not to exceed $72,170. Funds are available from Capital Improvement Program, Project Nos. 311016.429301.6.840, in the amount of $25,667, and 311704.429301.6.840, in the amount of $46,503. BACKGROUND: The Department of General Services Administration has analyzed the bids received pursuant to Bid No. 99-00-165. Thirty-six (36) Invitations for Bids were mailed and four responses were received. The bid submitted by City Air, Inc. was the lowest most responsive and responsible bidder who bid on all items and whose bid offered the lowest price when all items are added in the aggregate. This project is for the replacement of three (3) H.V.A.C. units at the General Services Administration building. The current units are old, inefficient, unreliable, highly corroded, and consumes excessive energy. The new units have an energy efficiency rating which shall allow for a three and one-half year buy back, based on projected energy savings. CAG AJM/ll 01- 213 B...
