FOR THE PROJECT ENTITLED "MODEL CITY STREET AND SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, B-4619" IN THE AMOUNT OF $524,311.50; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM PROJECT NO. 341203 AS APPROPRIATED BY THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS ORDINANCES, AS AMENDED, IN THE AMOUNT OF $524,311.50 FOR THE CONTRACT COSTS AND $87,688.50 FOR EXPENSES, FOR A TOTAL ESTIMATED COST OF $612,000; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS pursuant to public notice, Invitation for Bids for the project entitled "Model City Street and Sidewalk Improvement Project, B-4619", was mailed to 18 potential bidders; and WHEREAS, seven bids were received January 23, 2001; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Public Works recommend that the bid from APAC Group, Inc. be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; and WHEREAS, funds are available in the amount of $612,000 for the contract, project expenses and incidentals under Project My COQ XELTMG O MAR m O 2001 Be-Jautim 01- no- 210 No. 341203, as appropriated by the Annual Appropriations and Capital Improvement Projects Ordinances, as amended; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The January 23, 2001 bid of APAC Group, Inc., in the proposed amount of $524,311.50, for the project entitled "Model City Street and Sidewalk Improvement Project, B-4619" for the total proposed bid, based on lump sum and unit prices, is accepted at the price stated therein. Section 3. The total estimated project costs of $612,000.00 are allocated from Project No. 341203, as appropriated by the Annual Appropriations and Capital Improvement Projects Ordinances, as amended. Total project cost consists of the $524,311.50 for the contract costs and $87,688.50 for estimated expenses incurred by the City. Section 4. Prospective bidders must have a current certified Contractor's License from the State of Florida Construction Industry License Board for the class of work to be performed, or the appropriate Certificate of Competency or the State Contractor's Certificate of Registration as issued by Miami- Dade County Code, which authorizes the Bidder to perform the proposed work. A General Engineering Contractor (GEC) License shall be required for this project. All bids shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and Specifications. New City regulations will require each bidder to submit proposals in duplicate originals. Specifications may be obtain on or after December 11, 2000. There will be a JL0 deposit required for the first set of specifications.
