ENCLOSURES.
RECOMMENDATION
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution establishing
a cap of $5,000 per event day on the Basic Use Fee for the presentation of soccer matches by
Interforever Sports, Inc. at the Orange Bowl Stadium.
BACKGROUND
The Department of Conferences, Conventions and Public Facilities recommends that a cap of
$5,000 per event day on the Basic Use Fee for the presentation of soccer matches held January 26th,
2001 and to be held on March 7th, 2001 be established in order to secure these events at the Orange
Bowl Stadium.
The City will receive a ticket surcharge and retain all revenues from food, beverages and parking, in
addition to the Basic Use Fee. The event organizers will pay all the necessary costs of City services
and applicable fees associated with the event. It is anticipated that these soccer matches will
produce net revenues to the City in excess of $75,000.
