BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The bid of U.S. Traffic, d/b/a DSI, for the provision of three (3) speed measuring devices for the Department of Police, in an amount not to exceed $22,485, is accepted, with funds allocated from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, Project No. 690003, such expenditure having been approved by the Chief of Police and complying with the U.S. Department of the Treasury "Guide to Equitable Sharing." BACKGROUND The Department of Police has analyzed the bids received pursuant to Bid No. 99-00-204. Sixteen (16) Invitations for Bids were mailed and six (6) responses were received. U.S. Traffic d/b/a DSI, submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid and is, therefore, recommended for the award. The Police Department's Traffic Unit will assign the Speed Measuring Equipment at each of the three districts to effectively enhance traffic enforcement.
