HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-01-0033J-01-39 1/3/01 RESOLUTION NO. — A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ACCEPTING THE BIDS OF LEASING ASSOCIATES AND ABRAHAM CHEVROLET - MIAMI, INC. (D/B/A MAROONE CHEVROLET OF MIAMI), FOR THE LEASE OF VEHICLES FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION, TO BE UTILIZED BY VIP/CITY OFFICIALS, ON AN AS -NEEDED CONTRACT BASIS FOR A PERIOD OF TWENTY-FOUR (24) MONTHS, WITH THE OPTION TO RENEW THE LEASE FOR AN ADDITIONAL TWELVE (12) MONTHS, IN AN ANNUAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $156,824.40; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE BUDGETS OF THE VARIOUS USER DEPARTMENTS, SUBJECT TO BUDGETARY APPROVAL. WHEREAS, the lease of vehicles by the Department of General Services Administration is required for VIP/City Officials; and WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, Invitation for Bids No. 00-01-012 was mailed to ninety-three (93) potential bidders; and WHEREAS, two (2) sealed bids were received on November 13, 2000; and CITY COMMIS$= MEE=IG OF tus6(a.1L1t7A ��0. .. #._ - tD; WHEREAS, funds are available from the budgets of the various user departments, subject to budgetary approval; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of General Services Administration recommend that the bids received from Leasing Associates and Abraham Chevrolet - Miami, Inc. (d/b/a Maroone Chevrolet of Miami), be accepted and that a lease agreement be awarded to the lowest most responsive bidder(s) to be determined on a vehicle -by -vehicle basis; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The November 13, 2000 bids received from Leasing Associates and Abraham Chevrolet - Miami, Inc. (d/b/a Maroone Chevrolet of Miami) for the lease of vehicles, for the Department of General Services Administration, to be utilized by VIP/City Officials, on an as -needed contract basis for a period of twenty-four (24) months, with the option to renew the lease for an additional twelve (12) months, in an annual amount not to exceed $156,824.40, are accepted, with funds therefor allocated Page 2 of 3 0 3 3 from the budgets of the various user departments, subject to budgetary approval. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.11 PASSED AND ADOPTED this 11th day of January , 2001. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
