Presently, Section 2-1152 provides that when a membership vacancy occurs on the Board, the City Commission ("Commission') shall select the replacement board member from a list of three candidates to be submitted by the remaining members. of the Board. In the event that none of the three candidates suggested meets with Commission approval, the Board is required to submit another entirely different list for Commission consideration, and the process is to continue until a replacement is appointed. This process has been found to be inefficient, and has hindered the appointment to the Board of several highly qualified individuals. The Board has requested that this provision be amended.
