Re: Rate and hour of operation change in Coconut Grove
The reductions of the hourly rate in Coconut Grove will affect the revenue generated
in this area a great deal. For fiscal year 2000-2001, The Grove generated
$1,124,000. if the rate were to change from $1.25 an hour to $1.00 (20%), we would
loose $225,000 per year. See formula l below.
The restructuring of the hours of operations will affect our revenue for the Grove
area as well. The morning hour change from 7AM to LOAM will effect the yearly
revenue by $76,000. The shortening of the hours in the evenings from 2AM to
IOPM will affect the revenue by $80,000 yearly. See formulas (2&3) below. In total,
the amount of revenue that will be lost per year will be $381,000 that in turn affects
the minimum revenue that is given to the city.
l) $1,124,000x.20%=$225,000
2) 104 x 2hrs. x $1.00 x 7 x 52 =76,000
Note: 104 taken from 2 week survey of vehicle traffic in morning at 2 separate hours
(21irs) before IOAM from $1.25 to $1.00 an hour 7 days a week for one year (52
weeks)
3) 192 x 2hrs. x $1.00 x 4 x 52 = $80,000
Note: 192 taken from 2 week survey of vehicle traffic in evening at 2 separate hours
(2hrs) after IOPM from $1.25 to $1.00 an hour on the 4 non peek days of the week
(Sun -Weds.) for one year (52 weeks).
