I am writing on behalf of Miami Art Museum (MAM) to request your permission to
install light pole banners promoting three MAIM programs - Second Saturdays are Free
for Families, Free Sundays at MAM, and JAM at MAM - at 88 locations in the City of
Miami. We created these three programs to expand MAM's reach into the community.
Second Saturdays are Free for Families is a popular program with hands-on art activities
for kids and attracts young people with parents or grandparents from all corners of the
City of Miami. We have trained gallery teachers and volunteers from the New World
School of the Arts, who speak English and Spanish, on how to help youngsters with
their projects.
Free Sundays at MAM, made possible by The M/aml Herald/El Nuevo Herald, removes
all economic barriers. Last Sunday, more than 1,000 visitors enjoyed free entrance
between noon and 5 p.m.
JAM at MAM, held on the third Thursday of the month, offers the downtown work
f ce a place to gather for music and lively educational tours of the exhibitions on view,
nd r . forces the goal of bringing people to downtown Miami during the evening.

The Miami Art Museum (MAM) sponsors three spacial programs that serve
the residents of the City of Miami, particularly those who live in Overtown
and Park West, and citizens who work in the Downtown area. For this
reason, we respectfully invite the City of Miami to co-sponsor the following
activities with Miami Art Museum:
Second Saturdays are Free for Families is the museum's monthly
program, which offers children and their parents the opportunity to
participate in hands-on art activities led by trained gallery teachers and
volunteers from the New World School of the Arts. Admission is free
for all visitors.
Free Sundays at MAM, made possible by The Miami Herald/EI Nuevo
Herald, removes all economic barriers. Museum admission is free from
noon to 5 p.m., and visitors can enjoy a docent -led tour of the
exhibitions on view at 2 p.m.
JAM at MAM, held the third Thursday of the month from
5 — 8:30 p.m., offers the downtown work force a place to gather for
music and lively educational tours of the exhibitions on view. This
program reinforces the goal of bringing people to downtown Miami
during the evening.
r
Id be most grateful for the City of Miami's partnership with Miami
eum In the presentation of these ongoing programs.
