A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION,
WITH ATTACHMENT, ACCEPTING THE CITY CLERK'S
CERTIFICATION AND DECLARATION OF RESULTS FROM
ELECTION HELD ON DECEMBER 3, 2002, IN WHICH
CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS WERE ELECTED AS MEMBERS
OF THE OVERTOWN ADVISORY BOARD.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Clerk's Certification and
Declaration of the results from Election held on December 3,
2002, attached hereto and made a part hereof, in which the below -
listed individuals were elected to serve as board members of the
Overtown Advisory Board is hereby accepted.
Section 2. The City Commission hereby confirms the
election of the following individuals as members of the Overtown
Advisory Board, each to serve a term of two years which will
expire on September 14, 2004:
Sidney Ferguson
Barbara King Loyd
Michael Wilson

I, PRISCILLA A. THOMPSON, City Clerk of the City of Miami, Florida, do hereby certify that
the necessary steps were taken pursuant to City of Miami Code Section 2-1052 in connection
with the conduct of the Overtown Advisory Board Election held on December 3, 2002. Said
election was conducted in order to fill three (3) vacancies on the Overtown Advisory Board. The
election was held at the Culmer Center located at 1600 N.W. 3 Avenue from 2 until 6 p.m.
I. Four individuals qualified as candidates for Overtown Advisory Board members. Said four
candidates' names were place on the ballot.
II. A total of 77 ballots were cast in said election. A total of 76 ballots were counted. One
ballot was voided because it was an over -vote.
III. Voters were allowed to vote for a maximum of three (3) candidates of their choice.
IV. I further certify and declare that the results of the Overtown Advisory Board Election held on
December 3, 2002 are as follows:

V. Therefore, I certify that Sidney Ferguson, Barbara King Loyd and Michael Wilson
received the greatest number of votes and were elected as members of the Overtown
Advisory Board.

The Overtown Advisory Board (OAB) was created to encourage and support historic
preservation and provide recommendations to the City Commission regarding all City funded or
assisted activities, developments, or improvements within the Overtown area.
An election is scheduled for December 3, 2002 for three seats currently vacant on the OAB.
During the Commission meeting of December 12th, our office will hand out the results of the OAB
election.
Pursuant to Miami Code Section 2-105, the City Commission at large has to ratify the elected
individuals to be appointed as members of the Overtown Advisory Board.
For your information, attached please find a copy of the current board membership. This issue is
on the December 12, 2002 Commission Agenda.
