HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-02-1284J-02-1044 11/26/02 RESOLUTION NO. 02-1284 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $30,000, FROM FISCAL YEAR 2002-2003 BUDGETED FUNDS OF THE OFFICE OF HEARING BOARDS, ACCOUNT NO. 001000.820101.6.250, FOR PAYMENT OF COMPENSATION TO SPECIAL COUNSEL FOR THE NUISANCE ABATEMENT BOARD, INCLUDING ANY REQUIRED RELATED LITIGATION SERVICES. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The allocation of funds, in an amount not to exceed $30,000, from Fiscal Year 2002-2003 Budgeted Funds of the Office of Hearing Boards, Account No. 001000.820101.6.250, is authorized for payment of compensation to special counsel for the Nuisance Abatement Board, including any required related litigation services.'/ 1� This compensation shall be payable as earned during the period of such counsel's employment. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission. Funds for said compensation are available from Fiscal Year 2002-2003 budgeted funds of the Office of the Hearing Boards, Account No. 001000.820101.6.250. Special counsel to serve as legal advisor to the Nuisance Abatement Board is required because the City Attorney cannot both represent_and prosecute code violation cases before the Nuisance Abatement Board. The compensation is payable as earned during the period of such counsel's employment.
