A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
RATIFYING, APPROVING AND CONFIRMING THE
ACTIONS OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE
VIRGINIA KEY BEACH PARK TRUST ("TRUST") IN
AUTHORIZING THE ENGAGEMENT OF WALLACE
ROBERTS & TODD, LLC, SELECTED FROM THE
APPROVED LIST OF LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE
FIRMS APPROVED BY RESOLUTION NO. 99-708,
ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 29, 1999, FOR PREPARATION
OF THE SITE PLAN OF THE HISTORIC VIRGINIA
KEY BEACH PARK; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE
DIRECTOR OF THE TRUST TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY
ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE; ALLOCATING FUNDS
IN THE AMOUNT OF $146,270 FROM THE BUDGET OF
THE TRUST, ACCOUNT CODE NO.
116004.580239.6.270.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Executive Director of the Virginia Key
Beach Park Trust's ("Trust") actions in authorizing the
engagement of Wallace Roberts and Todd, LLC, selected from the
approved list of Landscape Architecture Firms approved by
Resolution No. 99-708, adopted September 28, 1999, for
preparation of the site plan for the Historic Virginia Key Beach
Park is ratified, approved and confirmed.

Section 2. The Executive Director is authorized'I to
execute an agreement, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney,
with Wallace Roberts and Todd, LLC, with funds in the amount of
$146,270, allocated from the budget of the Trust, Account Code
No. 16004.580239.6.270, for said purpose.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.'

�i The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with
all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney,
including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
z/ If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become
effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was
passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it
shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by
the City Commission.

Resolution No. 02-1240, adopted November 19, 2002, does not reflect the modification
made to the amount of funds allocated when the legislation was adopted.
Attached is a substitute original Resolution to replace the document that is presently
identified as Resolution No. 02-1240. Said document has been revised to reflect the correct
amount of allocated funds, which is $146,270.
After the corrected document has been executed, please forward a copy to this Office.
This memorandum may be attached to Resolution No. 02-1240 so that any concern regarding
the substitution of said Resolution is clarified.

The Board of Directors of the Virginia Key Beach Park Trust (the

Virginia Key Beach Park Trust is restoring and renovating Historic
Virginia Key Beach Park. The landscape architectural firm of
Wallace Robert and Todd, LLC will prepare a site plan for the Park.
The scope of services includes an evaluation of existing, historic
and proposed uses; participation rates and historic trends; a
synthesis and interpretation of data on natural and man-made
conditions; and the firm will indicate key areas of impact,
environmental "stress" and relative sites suitable for various levels
of use or development.

Public Works approved the request for professional services on July
3, 2002. Final execution of this contract has been delayed due to
changes is procedures as per the City Attorney's ruling in August,
2002.

items at the request of Capital Improvement Projects staff. Optional
