HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-02-1148J J-02-909 10/10/02 RESOLUTION NO. 02-1148 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION CODESIGNATING SOUTHWEST 2nd STREET, FROM SOUTHWEST 27th AVENUE TO SOUTHWEST 31s' COURT, AS "CALLE DR. DIEGO MEDINA"; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CITY CLERK TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE DESIGNATED OFFICES HEREIN. WHEREAS, the Miami Codesignation Review Committee at its meeting of July 3, 2002, reviewed and recommended a proposal for the codesignation of Southwest 2nd Street, from Southwest 27th Avenue to Southwest 31st Court, as "Calle Dr. Diego Medina" to honor an individual, who as a physician, devoted his life to caring for others regardless of ethnicity or financial resources. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings set forth in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. CITY COMMISMOR MEET= CFF Q C T 1 2002 Resowtion NO. 02-114B Section 2. Southwest 2nd Street, from Southwest 27th Avenue to Southwest 31St Court, is codesignated as "Calle Dr. Diego Medina" Section 3. The City Manager is directed to instruct the Director of Public Works to transmit a copy of this resolution to the City of Miami Departments of Police, Fire -Rescue, General Services Administration and Solid Waste, the Miami -Dade County Department of Public Works and United States Postal Service. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.'/ 1� If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. if the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
