HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-02-1145J-02-908 10/10/02 RESOLUTION NO. 02-1145 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION CODESIGNATING SOUTHWEST 3RD STREET FROM SOUTHWEST 22ND TO SOUTHWEST 27TH AVENUES, MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS "CALLE CARLOS D'MANT"; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE OFFICES DESIGNATED HEREIN. WHEREAS, the Miami Codesignation Review Committee at its meeting of July 3, 2002, reviewed and recommended a proposal for the codesignation of Southwest 3rd Street, from Southwest 22nd to Southwest 27th Avenues, Miami, Florida, as "Calle Carlos D'Mant" to honor Carlos D'Mant, an activist and commentator who encouraged the citizens of Miami to speak out and have their voices heard; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings set forth in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. VdErt= OE 0 CT 1 n, 2002 R&s6lu#ion No. 02-1145 i Section 2. Southwest 3rd Street, from Southwest 22nd to Southwest 27th Avenues, Miami, Florida, is codesignated as "Calle Carlos D'Mant". Section 3. The City Manager is directed to instruct the Director of Public Works to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the City of Miami Departments of Police, Fire -Rescue, General Services Administration and Solid Waste, the Miami -Dade County Department of Public Works and United States Postal Service.
