Gimenez City Manager October 10, 2002 Benefits/Salary City Clerk Position As requested by a motion of the City Commission, the following is my report concerning the benefits and salary of the City Clerk. Attached is a spreadsheet that details various benefits that were held by Walter Foeman, at the time of his retirement. The only benefit that I feel was not intended to be part of every succeeding City Clerk's package is the "pensionable salary" portion that was established through resolutions. This was a salary for pension purposes and was not the true salary. This issue started in 1994 and was given to 4 or 5 positions in the city (Manager, Attorney, Clerk, assistant Clerk). It has not been extended to others that filled these vacant positions, with the exception of Mr. Foeman, who had been voted in as the Assistant Clerk. The spreadsheet is attached for information purposes. The City Clerk's package is strictly up to the City Commission to determine.
