Miami, FL 33181 (305)919-7993 PROJECT: KNOWING YOUR GOVERNMENT Andedan Gouvenman Vil Miyami (Inside City of Miami Government) Project Statement The Haitian community is one of the largest and most vibrant community in the City of Miami. It is a diverse community made up of long time immigrants and a large number of recent arrivals. For years, the Haitian community has felt left out or marginalized by local authorities. Social programs and services have not kept up with the population increase and the changing needs of the community. Haitians have found it very difficult for obvious reasons, one being the language barrier, to have access to reliable information regarding the services provided by the county. This lack of information has therefore raised suspicion about the government process as a whole, the bureaucracy and the different programs being implemented. This project is an attempt to fill that particular void. "Island Magazine TV" proposes to create a program, which would be part education and part information. The program would serve to enlighten the community about the role and function of the City government and of its principal officials; to inform about the different programs available for economic development, business opportunities, and cultural activities. It would show how together the numerous levels of government work to make the City of Miami a better place to live and to do business. Understanding the issues, knowledge of the process is key to citizen support and participation. 02-1092 r Video Post Production Editing $1,100.00 $1,100.00 Miscellaneous Supplies $150.00 $150.00 Tape Transfers Multiple transfers for cities cable TV Systems $150.00 $150.00 Air Time N/A NIA Total $7,750.00 For the entire 8 program series Total $62,000.00 Studio rental @ $200.001 show $1,600.00 Items below are one time only cost for series 02_1')9''2 City of Miami Project BUDGET PROPOSAL Client City of Miami Producer / Director Jean -Robert Phillippeaux Duration 8x30min Quantities Production Elements - Unit Cost Total Production Staff: 1 Executive Producer $600.00 $600.00 2 Line Producers $350.00 $700.00 1 Producer / Director $500.00 $500.00 1 Camera op erator $300.00 $300.00 1 Online Videotape Editor $400.00 $400.00 2 Research Specialists / Writers: $300.00 $700.00 2 Talent /Writers (Also voice talent) $500.00 $1,000.00 1 Gaffer / Grip $100.00 $100.00 1 Makeup Artist $250.00 $250.00 Pre -Production Planning $500.00 $500.00 Video Equipment 1 1 Broadcast Camcorder package $700.00 $700.00 Tape stock 10 30 Min Betacam Sp $25.00 $250.00 Video Post Production Editing $1,100.00 $1,100.00 Miscellaneous Supplies $150.00 $150.00 Tape Transfers Multiple transfers for cities cable TV Systems $150.00 $150.00 Air Time N/A NIA Total $7,750.00 For the entire 8 program series Total $62,000.00 Studio rental @ $200.001 show $1,600.00 Items below are one time only cost for series 02_1')9''2 Graphic and set design $50.00 $400.00 TOTAL $64,000.00 02-1092
