RESOLUTION NO. 02— 9 y
A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
APPROVING THE SALARY OF THE EXECUTIVE
DIRECTOR OF THE BAYFRONT PARK MANAGEMENT
TRUST AS APPROVED BY THE TRUST.
WHEREAS, the Bayfront Park Management Trust ("Trust") has
managed the Mildred and Claude Pepper Bayfront Park ("Bayfront
Park") with the goal of ensuring maximum community involvement;
and
WHEREAS, Section 38-105 of the Miami City Code authorizes
the Trust to appoint an Executive Director and further
authorizes the Trust to fix the salary for the Executive
Director, subject to City Commission approval; and
WHEREAS, the Trust, at its July 29, 2002 meeting, approved
the Executive Director's annual salary at $87,000 annually
retroactive to April 1, 2002; and
WHEREAS, the Executive Director has agreed to said salary;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and
incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The salary of the Executive Director of the
Bayfront Park Management Trust is approved as approved by the
Trust.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.11

1� If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective
at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and
adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.

Approving the salary of the
Executive Director of the
Bayfront Park Management
Trust.
It is respectfully requested that the Miami City Commission adopt the attached Resolution approving
the Bayfront Park Management.Trust's Executive Director's salary.
BACKGROUND
The Bayfront Park Management Trust was created by the Miami City Commission to direct,
operate, manage and maintain all aspects of Bayfront Park with the goal of ensuring maximum
community involvement. Section 38-105 of the Miami City Code authorizes the Trust to appoint an
Executive Director subject to city commission approval. Section 38-105 of the Code further
authorizes the Trust to fix the salary for the Executive Director, subject to City Commission
approval. The Trust approved the Executive Director's annual salary at its July 29, 2002, meeting.
The approved salary is $87,000 annually, retroactive to April 1, 2002. The Executive Director has
agreed to accept that salary.
