HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-02-0952J-02-762 8/30/02 RESOLUTION NO. 02— 952 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ACCEPTING THE BID OF AFFORDABLE AUTO AND TRUCK GLASS, FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PARTS, MATERIALS, SUPPLIES AND LABOR FOR AUTOMOTIVE AND TRUCK GLASS REPLACEMENT, ON AN AS -NEEDED BASIS FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR, WITH THE OPTION TO RENEW FOR TWO ADDITIONAL ONE-YEAR PERIODS, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION (GSA), IN AN ANNUAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $25,000 FOR A TOTAL CONTRACT VALUE NOT TO EXCEED $75,000; ALLOCATING FUNDS AS FOLLOWS: FROM ACCOUNT CODES NOS. 503001.420905.6.670 (FY'03 - $10,000), 509000.42091.6.670 (FY'03 - $10,000) AND 001000.280601.6.670 (FY'03 - $5,000). BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The bid of Affordable Auto and Truck Glass, the lowest responsive and responsible bidder pursuant to Invitation for Bids No. 01-02-155, dated June 10, 2002, for the acquisition of parts, materials, supplies and labor for automotive and truck glass replacement, on an as -needed basis for a period of one year, with the option to renew for two additional one-year periods, for the Department of General Services CITY CONMS90 MEETING 6£ 1 1 2002 x"olutn No. 02"" 9 Administration (GSA), in an annual amount not to exceed $25,000 for a total contract value of $75,000, is accepted, with funds allocated as follows: from Account Codes Nos. 503001.420905.6.670 (FY'03 - $10,000), 509000.42091.6.670 (FY'03 - $10,000) and 001000.280601.6.670 (FY'03 - $5,000), subject to availability of funds. Page 2 of 2 02- 952 CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA CA=6 INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM TO: The Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Commission -� h _enezCity Manage r RECOMMENDATION: DATE: AIJIG 2 7 7Uw2 FILE: SUEUECT : Resolution Authorizing Provision of Automotive & Truck Glass Replacement REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution accepting the bid of Affordable Auto & Truck Glass, a Dade/Hispanic vendor, located at 20 Island Avenue, Suite 706, Miami Beach, Florida, 33139 for the provision of all labor, parts, materials and supplies necessary for automotive and truck glass replacement, on an as needed basis, for the Departments of General Services Administration and Fire -Rescue, for the initial term of one (1) year with the option to extend for (2) two additional one (1) year periods. Funding is available from the Departments of General Services Administration, Light Fleet Division, Account Code No. 503001.420905.6.670 (FY'03 $10,000), Heavy Fleet Division, Account Code No. 509000.420901.6.670 (FY'03 $10,000), and the Department of Fire -Rescue, Account Code No. 001000.280601.6.670 (FY'03 $5,000), in an annual amount not to exceed $25,000, subject to the availability of funds and budgetary approval. BACKGROUND: The Department of General Services Administration has analyzed the bids received pursuant to Bid No. 01-02-155. Twenty Eight (28) Invitations for Bid were mailed and six (6) responses were received. The bid from Affordable Auto and Truck Glass was deemed to be the most responsive and responsible bidder who bidded on all items and offered the highest average total percentage discount of all the items. The Departments of General Services Administration and Fire -Rescue require these services in order to provide installation and glass replacement on a variety of city vehicles on an as needed basis.
