A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
ACCEPTING THE BID OF SIRCHIE FINGER PRINT
LABORATORIES, INC., VEHICLE DIVISION FOR THE
ACQUISITION AND DELIVERY OF ONE
CUSTOM -MANUFACTURED, HEAVY-DUTY CRIME SCENE
EVIDENCE COLLECTION VEHICLE FOR THE DEPARTMENT
OF GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION, TO BE USED
BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $124,329; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE
MIAMI POLICE DEPARTMENT, LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK
GRANT VI, ACCOUNT CODE NO. 142023.290537.6.840.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The bid of Sirchie Finger Print Laboratories,
Inc., Vehicle Division, the lowest responsive and responsible
bidder pursuant to Invitation for Bids No. 01-02-154R, for the
acquisition and delivery of one custom -manufactured, heavy-duty
crime scene evidence collection vehicle, for the Department of
General Services Administration, to be used by the Police
Department, in an amount not to exceed $124,329, is accepted,

with funds allocated from the Miami Police Department, Law
Enforcement Block Grant VI, Account Code No. 142023.290537.6.840.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.11

RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution accepting
the bid of Sirchie longer Print Laboratories, Inc. — Vehicle Division, a Non-Local/Non-
Minority vendor, located at 612 Gravelly Hollow Rd., Medford, New Jersey 08055 for the
purchase and delivery of one (1) complete, fully -functional custom manufactured heavy-duty
Crime Scene Evidence Collection Vehicle for the Department of General Services Administration,
to be used by the Miami Police Department, in an amount not to exceed $124,329. Funding is
available from the Miami Police Department, Law Enforcement Block Grant VI, Account Code
No. 142023.290537.6.840.
BACKGROUND:
The Department of General Services Administration has analyzed the bids received pursuant to Bid
No. 01-02-154R. Eight (8) invitations for bid were mailed and three (3) responses were received.
The bid from Sirchie Finger Print Laboratories, Inc. — Vehicle Division was deemed the lowest
responsive and responsible bidder, meeting specifications. The purchase of a Crime Scene
Evidence -Collection Vehicle is being requested in order to replace the older and outdated vehicle
that has been in service approximately since 1985.
The Crime Scene Evidence Collection Vehicle will also serve the Crime Investigation Unit of the
Miami Police Department as a mobile forensic platform to secure, process and examine evidence at
large scenes with the assistance of the various pieces of equipment. Scenes that entail several days
of processing or numerous articles of evidentiary value can be maintained, examined and secured
within this vehicle and its components.
